Although they are not a baptisms or christenings because they do not have a religious connection in this instance they are, nevertheless, meaningful experiences for all concerned.
They are often regarded as wonderful occasions for bringing a whole family together to celebrate the arrival of a new generation.
WEDDING ALTERNATIVES assist you to celebrate your commitment to each other in a non legal but still meaningful way.

Your Commitment will be solemnised according to the Law in the ACT,
which requires the following:
If you wish for me to do the Celebration notify me as soon as possible

plenty of notice before the ceremony and usually no more than six months
before (advance diary bookings may be made).
Your Application for a Civil Partnership form must be completed and
lodged with the Department of Births, Deaths and Marriages at no cost ; to lodge this application requires you both to go in person to register. This
is done before the Ceremony or just after.
You must provide for sighting to the Department, your birth
certificates, or passport (if born overseas) and documentary proof of
termination of any previous marriage (death certificate or final divorce
decree) as well as proof of residency in the Australian Capital Territory.

under 18 years of age. Bring all of these documents to me as well when we meet so that
I may be clear of your position.
MILESTONE CELEBRATIONS may be something like an 80th birthday or other milestone occaision where the celebrant is the master of ceremonies. This option ensures that no-one in your family is offended by not being chosen for the role and all can sit back, relax and enjoy the occasion.
TRANSITION and LIFE STYLE CEREMONIES can be conducted to acknowledge other life events such as divorce, settlement of a house purchase, recommitment, step-children acceptance or name changing .
FUNERALS these too are a part of our lives and the Celebrations in which we all partake therefore I have trained in grief counselling as well as family counselling. This training assists me in being able to meet your needs at this very personal time.
It has been my privilege and honour to help many local families with the final arrangements for their loved ones.
Some have been of a serious and respectful nature, while others have been celebrations of a life well spent
I have several suggestions of the type of ceremony which may assist you in honouring your family member or loved one. As a professional funeral celebrant I am able to conduct a ceremony which will reflect your loved one.
